Regarded as one of the best coaches in the country, Coach Hansen has been selected as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Coach of the Year four times and in 2000 was honored as the ITA Coach of the Decade for the 90's. (During the 90's his teams were undefeated against Div III opponents in the regular season going 73-0).</p>

He has reached the postseason all five years. Smith orchestrated a record- breaking 2005 season that resulted in the school’s second NCAA title in four years. The Pilots became just the second school in history to complete an unbeaten season with a title, joining North Carolina.</p>
